In the 90's... hand curated links glued the web together. Automation that made the internet highly usable depended on this curation to rank search results. That curation is mostly gone now, and we are feeling nostalgic - and admit we would love to earn an affiliate commission.
I love the minimalism of backpacking. Not just the light weight, but the fact that we can get by and be really happy on so much less. At the same time , I think good design makes our gear more transparent so that we can experience the outdoors more.
to go into conditions just a bit more than what you've done before. Reflect on each item that you took. Mostly you will decide that you will be better prepared to meet the moment by carrying less stuff next time.
Sometimes the next adventure really would be better with an additional piece of gear. Borrowing it, or something similar, from a friend can help you confirm that you are making the right choice, and you might get a great deal if they have decided they no longer need that item.
The deals I see on sites dedicated to used camping gear usually seem to compete with a good sale on new stuff, but you still might try. On the other hand, the deals from friends, garage sales, thrift stores, facebook marketplace and craigslist are definitely worth checking.
